Who Cares? is a bilateral youth exchange project organized by the Tanzanian Youth Coalition and MitOst Hamburg. Ten young Tanzanians and ten Germans travelled for three weeks together through Tanzania to meet people who care. In the blog the participants give an insight on what are problems Tanzanians care about these days.
Tanzanian Youth Coalition (TYC):
Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC) is a non-government organization focused in ensuring the voices of the youth heard in all policy platforms. We mostly work with youth groups and young adults aged 15 to 35 years old. TYC facilitates information dissemination, sharing and exchanging knowledge, policy analysis, lobbying, and advocacy through its vision and mission. Vision: To see Tanzanian youth are vibrant and proactive as active change agents who realize, vocalize, and implement change for sustainable development. Mission: To build capacity for young people, engage and sensitize youth on sustainable development, and ensure that the voice of young people is heard across decision-making platforms. TYC works in five thematic area: 1) Youth Livelihood and Employment, 2) Youth Leadership and Building Local Democracy, 3) Youth Health and Gender 4) Youth Livelihood and Environment 5) International Partnerships and Exchange Programs for Sustainable Development.
MitOst Hamburg:
On the other side of the globe, MitOst Hamburg brings a unique perspective to the table. As an international organization based in Hamburg, Germany, MitOst is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural exchanges and collaborations. Their work extends to Tanzania through various partnerships and initiatives. MitOst offers Tanzanian youth the opportunity to connect with peers from around the world, exchange ideas, and embark on collaborative projects that promote intercultural understanding and innovation. Through cultural events, workshops, and networking opportunities, MitOst Hamburg plays a vital role in expanding the horizons of Tanzanian youth and connecting them to a global community of changemakers.
